We cannot heal in isolation

There will be times in your life when it is crucial to have the presence and support of a therapist.  It may sound surprising, but there is personal power in the courage that it takes to reach out and allow another person to be a witness to our deepest struggles.   This may feel quite scary initially, but the foundation of a therapeutic and healing relationship will be the trust that is developed between you and the therapist.  Your counseling session is confidential and information cannot be shared with others unless not doing so would put someone at risk of imminent harm (please see privacy policy tab for exceptions).  The gift of therapy is that you are offered a safe, non-judgmental space in order to work with and move through those tender and unhealed places within you.  You may or may not feel immediate relief, as this is a process that can take some time, but either way it can be an amazing journey of increased awareness and increased appreciation for the precious life you have before you.  Remember, also, that there is no shame in seeking professional assistance -- don't we do that everyday in many other aspects of our lives? The truth is that everyone is continually moving through their own evolution as a human being -- why wouldn't we want to do it well?  If you want to discuss this further, I would be honored to offer you a free office or phone consultation.

How
did the rose
ever open its heart
and give to this world all of its beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light against its being,
otherwise we all remain too
frightened.
